How To Pass Exams

How to Pass a Degree with Confidence
A study guide for a university or college degree.

Anthony Fox MSc BSc Hons

When it comes to passing exams there are several fundamental steps which you should follow. My time at university taught me a lot and a saw how many students failed to follow first principles. I studied artificial intelligence gaining a Master’s degree and also a BSc Honours degree in Computing. My time was also spent as a student representative helping other students at university where I gained valuable experience with the common problems most students face that is why I decided to write a book about how to pass a degree with confidence which is arranged into stories of my experience to reinforce the steps you should take to avoid failure.

Here is a list of stories included in “How to Pass a Degree with Confidence” They are not in any order, purely random.

To be or not to be

It’s never too late

We don't all wear the same shoes

We have all the time in the world

Sat there like a Cheshire cat

There’s a bit more meat on the bone

More stress than a chaining smoking nurse

The golden rule

How I got my T-Shirt

A girl came knocking on my window

Realize your potential it’s within you to succeed. Your success is not proportional to the effort you put in, that part is purely random.

I can win the lottery in a second, but spend a lifetime finding a cure for cancer. Which is more rewarding?

I devote a chapter in my book to why students fail with explanations and examples so that you don’t fail?

Plus: the number one topic you should understand, it could mean the difference between passing and failing?

The book “How to Pass a Degree with Confidence” also includes the following:

A study guide including How to write your project or dissertation, exam preparation, how to research, time management, how to reference correctly, critical thinking, how to study, how to revise, a girl game knocking at my window, how to build confidence, the need to set goals, a student perspective, how to cope with stress, how to cope with meager funds, score more goals than Casanova, top tips for university, and much more.

Readers' comments
"very well written and organized tutorials… it's indeed a great help for beginners like me to keep up the interest and at the same time learn this important subject."

"Brilliant. One of the very best I have read. Well written, with style and intelligence. I have spent hours looking for erotica like this... ."

An interesting; innovative, motivating self-help book on how to pass a university degree with confidence, by providing not only the do’s and don’ts but also an insightful and fascinating personal experience. It was written using the author’s experience gained as a student representative as well as the achievement of gaining an MSc and a BSc Honours degree. Comprehensive and detailed information is provided, to help those individuals contemplating an undergraduate or a postgraduate degree visualize and achieve their goals.

Each chapter recalls a personal experience that helps to reinforce the academic topic. Every important academic aspect is covered to help you achieve what you want.

How To Pass Exams

Just learn, and the rest is easy.

The Chinese philosophers Lao Tzu and Confucius offer us great wisdom in understanding thy self and the world and how to approach learning. Remembering that the more you sing from the heart with good thoughts the greater your understanding of knowledge will be and how to apply it.

I studied AI (Artificial Intelligence) at University and gained an MSc in Software Engineering and the secret of passing exams was preparation. Know your subject and plan your study time. I had to make a revised study plan because I also had assignments running concurrently with exams. So being able to set ample study time for each module and also allow enough time for assignments was crucial in being well-prepared for exams. Believe me, the task of creating a revision plan and working out the time available was a task not wasted. I was always well-revised when it came to taking exams because I took the time to plan beforehand and followed it through.

Anyhow, exam revision is one of many subjects I cover in my book. The book " How To Pass A Degree With Confidence" is a study guide with stories to help you assimilate the most important aspects of gaining that degree.

Life Skills

How to Pass a Degree with Confidence
A study guide for a university or college degree.

Anthony Fox MSc BSc Hons

The seed of your potential is unlimited when you have the life skills to conquer any fear of failure. Without life skills such as confidence and belief in your abilities the task of gaining that degree will be much harder to accomplish. The right attitude throughout your studies is a necessary prerequisite to achieving what you want.

Remember to take action and improve your life skills because no matter who you are and what skills you possess we can all improve. Take a good look around you, at any product or service. What do you see? Can it be improved? Sure it can! It’s the same for us as individuals we can all improve our life skills. Even a smart person is not always right. It’s easy to fall into a trap, of blinding our reasoning with bigotry and bias without the necessary life skills to negate it from our thinking.

How To Pass A Degree With Confidence is more than just a tutorial about the most important topics to understand at college or university, it also contains important information on life skills such as; how to build your confidence, how to set your goals effectively, how to cope with stress and much more. It’s vital information for you on how to cope with the stress and strain of gaining that college or university degree.

Each chapter has several sections so the topic can be easily assimilated and read. You will see how life skills are important tools to have in both an academic and a social environment and at the same time learn how to use those skills to avoid the most common pitfalls that students face.

Anthony Fox © Life Skills Cartoon 2012

Included in the book are many stories about my experience at university to help demonstrate the key points of the main topics. So when we combine life skills with action we have a recipe for success. When we learn life skills, we are moving forward with our goals.

The world is full of great ideas, but without action they are just ideas. Successful people have one common denominator; they put their ideas into action. Remember what Lao-tzu said, “The journey of a thousand miles begins beneath one's feet."

I devote a chapter in my book to: why students fail with explanation and examples so that you don’t fail?

Plus: the number one topic you should understand, it could mean the difference between passing and failing?
